Frequently Asked Questions
Client Experience
What do I wear?
For full session clients, you will have access to my client closet - many of these are in a range of sizes and most are bump friently.
I will also be sending my 'Client Experience Guide' which includes lots of information and inspiration for styling yourself and your little one.
When organizing the outfits of the family, I recommend choosing your outfit (one you love) first and then build the other outfits around this.
I am also here to support all my clients! Send me photos of your outfit ideas and I will happily guide you.
What’s your photography style like?
My sessions are relaxed, natural, and full of connection. No stiff poses or forced smiles—just your real family, as you are. Think cuddles, laughter, wild hair, and soft light. I’m all about capturing the in-between moments that tell the real story.
What area do you work in?
I’m based in Maitland, NSW and photograph families across the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether I travel to your location, feel free to get in touch — I’m always happy to chat and see what’s possible. 🤍
Can I email / text / call you?
Yes, email is the most preferred method of communication in leading up to your session. The day of your session you can call/text me if you need any support.
I'll also be emailing, touching base, and keeping you up to date after your session via email.
What if my kids don’t want to smile or sit still?
Perfect! I don’t need them to. I love capturing the real stuff—snuggles, giggles, even cheeky chaos. Your job is to love on your family, and my job is to turn that into art. No pressure. No perfection. Just play, connection, and a bit of magic.
Do you take behind the scenes videos?
Yes, I do often take behind-the-scenes videos during sessions! I’m happy to share them with you afterward — just a quick message to send the unedited clips so you can enjoy the moments as they happened.
Which session is right for me?
What’s the difference between a Mini Session and a Full Session?
A Full Session typically runs for around an hour (sometimes a little more) and is fully customised to your family. We choose the location together, there’s plenty of time to relax into the moment, and you’ll receive a larger gallery with a rich variety of images that tell your story in full.
A Mini Session is a short and sweet 15–20 minute session at a pre-selected location, with limited dates and times. Minis are often seasonal (like Christmas or Easter), and are perfect for a quick update or festive keepsake. Fewer images are captured and delivered, but the price point is lower, making them a beautiful and accessible option for families.
Both are wonderful in different ways—it just depends on what kind of experience and memories you’re after 💛
A mini session are very short 15-20 minute photo sessions that are at a pre-selected location with limited dates and times available. These often are around a certain theme - like Christmas or Easter. There is significantly less images captured and delivered during these sessions, however Mini Sessions are considerably cheaper and a great way to quickly update family photos.
Can I customize a session?
You can absolutely customize a full session. During our pre-session planning, we discuss locations, who's attending, props, clothing, poses. As your session is the only session I have for that date we have the freedom and flexibility to add customizes.
If you have any ideas, please let me know!
Newborn or Family Session?
A newborn session is suitable for those welcoming a new little one into their family - I recommend up to 3 months of age.
After this, you would typically fall into a Family Session.
There is no price difference between a Newborn and a Family Session.
Booking, Rescheduling & Payment
When should I schedule a Maternity Session?
The sweet spot for maternity photos is typically between 32 and 36 weeks—your bump is beautifully round, but you’re (hopefully!) still feeling comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.
If you’re carrying multiples or have a high-risk pregnancy, we might aim for a little earlier. The sooner you reach out, the better we can plan for that golden light and dreamy location you’ve been imagining.
What if I need to rescheduel?
Life happens—especially with little ones (I get it!). If you need to reschedule, just let me know as soon as you can, and I’ll always do my best to find a new date that works for us both.
I ask that you refer to the rescheduling guidelines in your contract, which outlines the required notice period. Of course, if anything changes on my end, I’ll give you as much notice as possible too. We're in this together 💛
What payment options do you have?

AfterPay!
How do I pay with afterpay?
Personally, I absolutely love AfterPay—I use it myself! I’m so passionate about helping mums get in the photos with their little ones, not just behind the camera. These moments are fleeting, and every mama deserves the chance to freeze this season of life—without money being a barrier.
That’s why I’m so excited to offer AfterPay for all my sessions!
To use AfterPay, simply book your session as normal and let me know you’d like to pay this way. I’ll send you a direct link to complete the process. Easy as that!
Can I pay with AfterPay?
Yes, I offer Afterpay! I believe family photography should be accessible, and Afterpay is a great way to secure your session date when you need it, while spreading out the cost in a way that works for you. Just let me know, and I’ll send you a special payment link. 🤍
When should I book a Newborn Session?
You’ll often hear that the “ideal” time for newborn photos is within the first 7–10 days—but honestly? I believe in choosing what feels right for you. Those early days are tender, emotional, and sometimes a little overwhelming.
I’m a big believer in rest, recovery, and soaking up that newborn bubble for as long as you need. Whether it’s week one or week four, I’ll meet you right where you are. My newborn sessions are gentle, baby-led, and full of love—no pressure, no rush.
I personally scheduled my newborn session when I had my little one when he was 8 weeks old.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes—a retainer is required to secure your session date. Without it, your spot isn’t guaranteed and may be released for others to book.
Once your deposit is paid, your session is officially locked in, and I can’t wait to photograph your beautiful story! 💛
When do I have to pay the full amount?
The final payment is due 7 days before your session.
I’ll send you a friendly reminder with all the details, so there’s no need to worry about remembering. If you're using AfterPay or a payment plan, that will be arranged at the time of booking.
As always, if you need flexibility—just reach out. I’m here to make the process easy and stress-free 💛
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, absolutely! A session is such a meaningful gift—perfect for new mums, growing families, or even Christmas minis. Send me a message to organise one.
Delivery
When will I receive my images?
I aim to send you a sneak peek (3-5 images) within 36 hours of your session.
I have a 6 week deadline to send you your complete gallery, however I personally like to beat this deadline well in advance each time.
What if I'm not happy with my images?
As anyone in the service industry, I aim to have happy clients! To help with this, I try to keep a consistent editing style, so you know the vibe of my work from past clients. I also provide clients with a questionnaire and Client Experience Guide to help maximize communication and clarify of expectations.
However if you are unhappy with any part of my service, I want you to reach out to me and let me know so I can try to rectify the situation with you.
How long do I have acess to my online gallery for?
You have access to your online gallery for 4 weeks so it is important you download your gallery to your devises as soon as possible.
How will I recieve my images?
You will be sent an email with a specialized link to your personal online gallery. This email will also include a download code, enabling you to download all the images as you wish.
Do you sell physical prints or products?
Yes, my focus is on creating beautiful memories and images for you to cherish for decades to come.
All my collections, your images are delivered in an online gallery, in high and low resolution. Some collections also include printed polaroid photos and/or printed images, personalised classic photo albums, and wooden keepsake USBs.
Keeping your little ones safe
Are you vaccinated?
This is a common concern for parents with new babies or immune compromised members. Yes I had my whopping cough vaccine in 2023, and I have the flu shot annually before flu season hits.
Do you have a Working With Children's Check?
Yes! As I'm an Early Childhood Teacher I do have a current working with children check number.
What other practices do you have in place to protect my newborn?
I typically will not hold your newborn (unless you need me to and in which case I'll take all those baby cuddles!), rather I prefer your littlest one to be safe and sound in your arms. I won't wear strong perfumes before the session, and I don't partake in smoking or vaping.
Any props I provide (picnic blankets, mosses basket etc.) are washed before each full session.
If I'm attending a Fresh 48 Hour session or a Newborn session in your home, I am happy to wear a mask - just to help prevent any germs being introduced into the indoor space.
And of course I will reschedule if I am unwell - especially those Newborn sessions!
